To ensure that everyone has a positive and enriching experience, we ask all members to adhere to the following Code of Conduct. Our Commitment We strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where all members feel valued and safe. We commit to a community built on respect, integrity, and professionalism. We encourage every member to contribute positively and share their knowledge and experiences. Expected Behavior Respect for All: Treat all members with respect, dignity, and kindness. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of abuse will not be tolerated. Collaboration Over Competition: Foster an atmosphere of mutual help and collaboration. We are here to lift each other up, not pull each other down. Openness and Inclusion: Be open to different perspectives and experiences. Encourage and support diversity in all its forms. Professional Integrity: Act with integrity and ethical responsibility. Honest and ethical conduct is expected at all times. Constructive Communication: Engage in positive, constructive communication. Avoid aggressive, derogatory, or demeaning remarks. Unacceptable Behavior Unacceptable behaviors include but are not limited to: Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form. Verbal or written abuse of any member. Disrespect towards differences of opinion. Inappropriate use of nudity, sexual images, and/or sexually explicit language in community spaces. Any form of threat or personal attack. Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior Unacceptable behavior from any community member will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, the Macon Black Tech administrators may take any action they deem appropriate, from a warning to the offender to a permanent expulsion from the community. Reporting Guidelines If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a community organizer as soon as possible. Scope We expect all community participants (contributors, paid or otherwise; sponsors; and other guests) to abide by this Code of Conduct in all community venues—online and in-person—as well as in all one-on-one communications pertaining to community business. This Code of Conduct applies to all Macon Black Tech spaces, including, but not limited to, workshops, social media platforms, and community gatherings.
